Default Visit to Cascotech's shop for GT take offs

Hey everyone, I am fairly new to this forum, I just bought my mustang 3 weeks ago. Of course as I'm sure most of you did, I started researching my modification options right away. I came across Cascotech on e-bay and bought the GT take off kit (bumpers, side skirts and mufflers) from him. I called him before I bid to make sure that he had my color in stock and to make sure I had all the information I needed. I asked him a few questions related to the installation and he said, "You know, if you want to drive it up here, I would be happy to install it for you." (For a price of course). Realizing that I'm a rather mechanically challenged accountant type, I thought that might be a good idea. He lives near Detroit, and I live just outside of Milwaukee, so it is about a 6 hour drive. My dad happily volunteered to come along because I couldn't convince my wife that it would be a worthwhile trip (AKA no new outlet malls between here and there).

To get to the point, we drove to Detroit earlier this week and met Mike (runs themustanghookup.com) and found him to be a fantastic guy. He was careful, precise, and very knowledgeable about our cars. It took him about 3 to 4 hours to install and it looks terrific, I couldn't be happier. I have to say that i was very impressed with him, how he treated me and my dad, and how he treated my car and I would most definitely buy from him again. I hope that this gives you guys some confidence when looking to buy from him on e-bay because I was a little nervous to make a purchase like that with little counsel.

Long story short, I paid him $1,000 for everything installed. He did not install the dual exhaust or the wheels; those were separate purchases the next day. He did install the single GT take off muffler though. I took some uodated pictures this morning. Enjoy!

Sounds like a good deal and your car looks great! Good job on getting them to hang a second muffler.

do you have a ebay link?

BUT, I have a silly question!
Did you leave your stock V6 bumper covers with him or did you drive there with out them (I'm guessing NOT the second option) Or how did you haul them back?

Thanks guys. He gave me a credit for the bumpers, so I left them there. I didn't know what I was going to do with them if i brought them back home, or how I would even get them here. Below is the link to one of his auctions, you can also find some of his stuff on http://www.themustanghookup.com.

The second muffler has been an issue though. I posted something a couple days ago about the saga with meineke to have the dual ehaust installed. It is still crooked and still rattles, but he told me that he would fix it tomorrow. When i figure out how to post audio files, I will post a link with the stock exhaust, the single GT take off muffler, and the dual exhaust.

Always nice to hear about someone that is good to do business with. Seems like far too often we get sidetracked by A-holes. Love your car, very tasteful!
