Default Welding rear shut

Hey all,
Me and my friends were messin around welding and they welded one of my friends rears shut...his 89 5.0. I was thinking to MIG weld my rear maybe so that it can break loose eventually. The kid whose welder it was MIG welded his rear shut on his lifted F150 and it broke out after about 3 months. Was wondering what your guys opinoins are on this. And I know, this is not the most proper way to go about this.

I'm guessing he's talking about welding his rear differential... old trick... great for going in a straight line... but it's hell making turns... LOL!

I thought it may be that...but I didnt want to think about that!
It just....rubs me the wrong way....

Maybe I dont like the thought of when it breaks loose, little pieces of metal rattling around in the pumpkin...

+1 i was thinking of doing that in my camaro, but decided not to and spend the $420 for a true trac once i get the money, id rather have it done right, and i think it would be a bitch to drive as a DD

lol u got it right. Yea...I'm just going to be driving not far from my house and it would eventually break loose so it's not really a problem plus I could break it anytime I really needed to. and yes i'm always coming up with bootleg things to do cuz i'm a college student that's broke lol. Scrming, do you think it'll be way too hard to turn to the point where i'm going to turn into drift racer stang lol??

EDIT-my bootleg intake finally worked!

I'd think it could be fun drifting your way on down to the corner store for a while but, I might be a little concerned about the front end not going in the direction you're trying to steer. I had a CJ-7 equiped with lockers but in two wheel drive I had more than enough HP to lift a substantial amount of traction off the front tires sending sometimes straight across an intersection against my will. Of course you could mount an Off-road jack Wrap around brushguard a light bar and a Warn 9000 winch to the front it helped my Jeep alot. LOL
