I had the shop fab an X-pipe and I love the way it sounds. I have gotten nothing but compliments on it but I think vibrated a hanger loose (which has nothing to do with the X-pipe, just my lead foot).

Can someone give me some advice, please? I dropped the stang off at the shop today for them to whip up an H pipe and put my GT take-offs on. They just called and said they are unable to do so without a gt-like system underneath the car. They want me to find a gt exhaust system and they will modify it to fit my v6. Has this happened with anyone else or should I just find somewhere else to go?

When I had mine done, I took a picture of another forum members car with an h-pipe and showed them what I wanted. They looked and nodded their heads, like "Yeah, we can do that." They then copied what was done with no problems. It turned out great. I used Midas by the way, and they charged me $87 to fab the h-pipe and complete the install of the Ford midpipe and hang the second GT muffler. If you go back to this shop, or any other shop, take a picture of a completed install with you. I think it helps, and sort of challenges the shop since they see it can be done.

My dual exhausts with X pipe vibrates at low RPM and at 1500 rpm. I attach the damper to the front part of the X pipe. It is much better now.

I had the X pipe and was happy with it. I had it with dual magnapacks and later with dual american thunders. Clips on my web site.

General rule is X flows better, H sounds better. But the gain one vs. the other is 2HP which is arguable on a dyno. I did a before an after.
