Default Saying goodbye to Susie ... :(

Hi everyone,

Some of you might know that I have a '07 v6 Mustang on order and it should be here before Christmas!! [sm=groupwave.gif]

Anyways, I'm thinking it's time to say goodbye to Susie - a Nissan 300zx turbocharged 5-speed from 1986 with T-Tops, 148k miles, leather, digital dash - my first (and only) car so far - she's gotten me through 6 years of driving with no major issues, and in overall good condition, but she feels like she's getting a bit tired. What do you think? Keep her and use her as a winter beater here in Chicago or sell her to a loving new home (and if so, how much do you think she's worth)??!

Keep her as a winter driver. I park my 05 Vert, and drive my daughter's hand-me-down PT Cruiser (she won a 2007 Ford Fusion in a radio give away). Saves the Stang from getting cinder rocked to death on the Oregon winter roads.

I keep my Mustang in on the nasty days too. If old car is still in good shape and you have the room I'd say keep it, but it is a little hard not driving the Mustang everyday.

haha for sure man. I lived out in Bend for the past year. from about 7/29/05-7/15/06. I got my mustang from Robberson Ford. They put this kind of coating on the underside of my car so that the pumice they lay down wouldn't rip the bottom of my car up

Yea, the volcanic red cinder rock they lay down is like taking a sand blaster to your rig.......everyday of the week. I don't care if the PT is an old ladies car if it means the stang can stay wrapped up in the garage for the winter.

I would park the Stang in the winter. That's what I do. I've got an '88 Chevy pickup with running boards and a camper shell. My daughter calls it the GT (grandpa truck)...lol.

I don't care. The important thing is that my Mustang is tucked inside a dry garage on the bad days.

I'd keep it, that's when Japaneese cars were cool I love the old 240-280 and 300Zs - how well does the Nissan do in the snow? I did it backwards - I use my Mustang as my winter car and my 2003 Monte Carlo SS as my show car. I have to be careful with deep snow but other than that, it does pretty well in the winter.
