What do you think would be the outcome?
Here's a scenario, and before I make a fool of myself, I thought I'd ask for opinions...
My buddy has a 2006 Porsche Boxster (not the S). He wants to race, and I'm thinking to myself, what's the point, it's a Porsche, and I will have my *** handed to me on a silver platter. But, now that I look at the specs, I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I know he's got me in the hp department (245 vs 210), but as for tq I have him (240 vs 201). As far as I know, he doesn't have any mods, and mine are listed in my sig (they are very basic).
So, my question is, how do you all think this would turn out? Could I take him, or would this be a race that would be close at first then I'd be blown out of the water? Just curious...

RE: What do you think would be the outcome?
A good part of "racing" is the driver. Base specs are only the starting point, then there's road conditions, weather, and other factors to take into account as well. The question really isn't are your cars comparable, but are you up to the task? I've seen Corvettes smoked by V6s because the drivers wern't up to pushing the car around the track. Get up on those inclines and suddenly the world is on its edge and that wall is awful close; some people just can't handle it.

I dont really know. The boxter 0-60 is quite sad for the brand name (6.4s). Plus, those cars are a bit harder to drive because they are lower tq and higher revving than our cars.
I dunno, it seems kinda rediculous to say that our car might win the race, but with our recorded 0-60 in the same range, according to the numbers it is possible

The Boxster is not designed as a drag racer so in a drag race I would think you could easily out accelerate him. However on a road course he would probably have you for lunch assuming he has any driving skills at all.
