Is scrming in the post above actually advocating fraud? Trying to put an engine back to stock configuration and going back to a dealer claiming is was an strictly warranty issue without revealing mods is a FELONY.
Yea, it seems from spending a bit of time on this BB that a few a the guys were raised with skewed morals.

for that kind of money its cheaper to get a brand new forged shortblock, switch the heads and accesories and get it done with . You will end up with a better stronger engine for the same amount of money. Good Luck

I'm not advocating anything... I'm simply saying that if he was going to try a get a warranty claim out of this he should have put a stock intake on...

FYI... when i broke my motor I didn't even bother taking it to the dealership (car only had 29,000 miles). People were telling me to put my car back to stock and do the warranty thing... I didn't even try... i simply bought a used motor...

Sure would like to see a picture of that screw though... LOL!

and what did we learn from this tale?

1) be CAREFUL during installs
and
2) always keep the stock parts (in case of resale or warranty work)

that sucks, but according to that good old Magnuson Moss act, I do believe it's ford's responsibility to prove that the modifications made were the cause of the problem
i.e. were screws even used during the CAI installation, are stock screws missing, etc, etc

Thats what I am saying right there. Regardless of who is actually at fault, you should make ford go through all the hoops before your buddy drops 5 grand on a new engine.
