Have you checked the muffler to make sure it doesn't have any holes or leaks? Or the clamp connecting the muffler to the rest of the exhaust?

True...I have a manual tranny. Mine starts to lug when it hits 1500 RPMs.

Also wondering if the damper changes the overall noise at all RPMs or only noticeably affecting the 1500 RMP vibration.

The damper will make less noise and vibration at all RPMs, not only at 1500 RPMs. It is attached to exhaust pipe between CAT and Y pipe. It is easy to take off or install ( 5 minutes most ) with a 13 mm wrench. Its part number 5R3Z-5F240-A. It costs around $ 28.00 .
I know that the noise and vibration related to exhaust movement, not related to transmission; but jerseystang07 suggested that we should down shift at 1500 rpms. It is not applicable to auto transmission.

tientran,

Thanks for the advice. I think I will try the damper since it is covered under warranty and I can always take it off. The problem I have is that I like it loud when I stomp on the gas, but when I am cruising at a steady speed I would rather hear the stereo more than the engine. I also have a convertible so I hear the exhaust more than I would with a coupe.

My power window switches vibrate with the radio and the exhaust noise. Does anyone know how to take these out? I would like to add some foam under the switch plate to stop the vibrateion. I took out theheadlight switch already to install fog lightsand I am wondering if it is a similar fastening method for the power window switch or if anyone has done it before?

By the way, I found a great techique for removing the headlight switch. Instead of using a screwdriver to pry the bottom up, you can slip in a thin card. I used a Chili's gift card which is thinner than a credit card and it worked excellent. The card recesses the metal tabs and the switch pulls right out with no force and no scratching of dash or switch plate.
