Default Loud Stock V6 Exhaust at 40mph?

I have a stock V6 with automatic transmission. When I hold the speed steady at 40 mph I notice that exhaust has a fairly loud and deep sound that I don't have at any other speed. If I hit the Overdrive button it slightly changes RMP and it isn't noticeable. It doesn't bother me and I can't hear it if the stereo is cranked up anyway, but I just wanted to know if something might be wrong with my car (while it is still under warranty) or if this is the same in all V6's.

Thanks

What are your RPMs at driving 40 mph when the exhaust is loud?

It is loud just under 1,500 RPMs. It is loud enough to make some interior plastic partsannoying vibration sound. Kind of like my subs do to my power window switch. Anyone know how to stop the power window switches from rattling with bass?

It's loud udner 1500 RPMs because you need to downshift. That's way too low for driving.

My car,V6, Auto. I have engine roars and car vibrates at 1500 rpm. I took it to dealer. They attached a damper to the exhaust pipe. It is much better although the problem is still there. You should take it to a dealer. There is a TSB for the problem

try getting a flowmaster or slp exhaust...that should fix the problem

I made it true dual exhausts with Ford parts: 2 brackets, 2 GT mufflers take off, X pipe Ford racing and GT left mid-pipe. The car still vibrates at 1500 rpm without the damper. So; I install the damper back. Now, the vibration is solittle that I only feel it if I pay close attention to it.

Nope. I routinely cruise along at around 1200-1300 RPM and it just purrs nicely. Very quiet. There's no loud noise with this transmission until it gets down to around 800 RPM and starts to lug a little, but even that noise isn't "loud," and I don't think that's the noise ullmustang is talking about anyway.

Maybe we have different transmissions. Noise and vibrationat 1500 rpms happen to AUTO transmission only.

I have the auto transmission, but just to clarify... I think the sound is coming from the exhaust and not the transmission.
