Default Building a Drift Car

I am my 05 V6 into a drift car. The first things I need to get inorder to even start is a LSD and an adjustable suspension. What else do you guys recommend I get before starting to drift it. It will not be drifted on the street, only at legal tracks. However it is also my daily driver. Also I was thinking about getting gears for it. What do you recommend for those? I don't care about the gears effect it as a daily driver, as I only live 1 mile from where I work and it is no highways. Right now I only have the MRT Aero-Turbine as far as performance goes. Thanks.

I think in order to drift you definetely need some power to hold you though the turns.

As far as I understand it is possible to drift in a 05 V6 stock. I am not looking to go pro or anything. I just want to learn how to drift.

Personally i would never do it. Drifting is very hard on your car, you are constantly redlining it, trannies start to wear quick, and tires say adious. If you want drift this car, i would recommend you get another car as a DD, Drift cars break a lot. But good luck on your mods, keep us informed on your progress!

I would talk to Sean at acmustang. He has a lot of experience setting up mustangs for autox, track and drifting.

get a set of 4.10 gears a detroit true trac, and a ta rear girdle and an SCT tune from vmptuning.com,

if you drift, you must put in a detroit or auburn or something of the sort as the tloks are weaker, ive broken 8.8 tlok at 280ish rwhp

scroll down to the bottom, that tlok was broken with a 4500 rpm clutch drop and DRs at 212 rw/ft.lbs

http://www.3.8mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183112

the 4.10s will help alot as they will be eaiser to spin, get a tune from vmp as well, justin is one of the greatest tuners out there, be careful, be safe, be smart

Man I'd get a couple of engines's, trannys, and clutches!!after seeing it done in person lol A turbo would help a lot also.I always wanted to learn how to drift but I can't imagine the wear after seeing it in person. Mine as well just take your car dump the clutch in first and never switch gears.

Good luck and keep us posted, I believe your the first to make a drift car.
