Default Royal Purple Gear / Manual Transmission

Going to be replacing my Rear Diff and Manual Transmission fluid with royal purple...I was reading on the royal purple website that the transmission and rear diff use the same fluid?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/royal-...-gear-oil.html

Is this right?

I also found this but I dont understand what this means...

"synchromax is recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automatic transmission fluid or motor oil."

The trans will use either the manuel trans fliud or the ATF, your choice, I used the RP manuel trans. fliud(3qts) and RP75W90 in the axel(2 qts for the 8.8)

The manualtrans.on 2005+ Mustangs calls for MERCON ATF (V-6 2.75QTS--V-8 3.2QTS)not manual trans. fluid. And the rear calls for SAE75W-140synthetic(7.5 3.25PTS-- 8.8 4.25PTS). This is in your owners manual!

You can getRoyal Purple ATF Mercon , and the Manuel Trans Fluid can be used as well, either way you can get a RP synthetic for it.

I've been using RP Synchromax for the last 10K or so. Works like a charm. Tranny is quieter than it was with the Ford fluid, and shifting is smoother.

New transmisson do get smoother over time. I use RP MAN. Trans. fluidin my T-5 but it felt the same shifting wise as it need with some clean ATF that came out of it. I use it because it is synthetic, which I believe has a real world advantage, as protection/lube goes for the mechanical part, over the conventional stuff. Whatever oil/fluid use use, keep it clean.

Theimprovement in mine was noticable right after the change. It wasn't a "break in" thing.
