can someone tell me where the air intake silencer is and how to take it off?

also is it safe to do?

i believe you are talking about a paper like item that was put into GT's when they first came out. It's in the intake inlet tube from the Airbox to the throttle body. Im almost positive that V6's don't have that. i have my stock airbox off the vehicle and i didn't see any paper like item that would be used as a silencer.

Correct me if im wrong on anything.

ok thanks. i plan on geting a new intake anyways (after dual exhaust tho)

heard thru the grapevine that removing this while ok and doent really hurt the car, it will however cause the check engine light to come on and stay on...or so im told...as for 4.0 having them..i have no idea..my theory is that it is there for a reason.....but i have heard it wont hurt the car to remove it...all the knowledgei haveon this subject for you...

yea i looked at it and it doesnt have anything anywhere so there must not be one.
