RE: lowering the seat
Yeah loks like aybe you don't have your seat down all the way we understand if you just didn't try to lower it before you posted!!
I did notice whenI was test driving cars the manual seats did go down more than the power seats did.

RE: lowering the seat
My boyfriend is 6' 3" and I'm 5' 9"...I have it lowered a bit for my knees and he doesn't have to lower it to fit either. He only makes it go back a little bit when he drives. I have the 6-way adjustable though...

RE: lowering the seat
I ordered mine with power seats solely for the reason I am 6'5" tall and can't get enough leg room in any car by just "moving the seat back." What I did in my '89 Cutlass Supreme (with power seats... for the same reason) and what I do now with my Mustang, is put the seat all the way back, then pivot the front of the seat up and the back of the seat down. This let's me extend my legs farther than I could with just manual adjustments. That my car came with a power lumbar support was icing on the cake.
Power seats are my solution to the problem; it works for me.
