Default Prices next year?

I reckon this time next year I'll have $12,000 towards a mustang through savings, selling off a Jeep Wrangler I somewhat inherited, and the fact that my father wants a stang himself. Now I really want an 05 mustang but the price right now is a little to high, also the insurance when compared to a 2000 V6 is nearly double for some odd reason. Bassically should the price on the average mustang be down another $2000 or so in a year and should insurance drop at all? If not we will probably just buy a 99-04 which I would still love but the newer body style and tad extra horsepower is just pure awesomeness to me. Also does anyone know the diffrence between a 2000 and 05 mustang with their current insurance provider? For some reason the big price boost on the newer mustangs seems a bit fishy.

I got my 05 in April of 06 last year. It had 7500miles on it and I got it for $16,500 at an auction. It cost me a little less then $18,000 in the end whichwas very good. I can't predict the prices next year but I know its possible to find a good deal. Thevalue of the V6 seems to drop fast... Insurance is always unpredictable depending on your company. The best is too look at different listings, like auto trader, and see what kind of deals are out there. You can deff find a 99-04 stang out there in your price range...even a GT. I would wait and try to save up or find an 05+ V6. Good luck.

Yeah now that I think of it I'm going to deffinately save up to get an 05. I like them so much better than the 99-04's and it's not like I need a mustang my first week of having my license. As far as insurance goes, does anyone else's provider have a big gap in premiums between the 04 and 05's?

Resale is SOOO bad on the mustangs, buying a year old one with under 10k miles for $7000 under what it was new is common. I bought 2 new ones and lost my butt both times when selling them, and on my 3rd, Im definately getting one that is one year old, I can use that 7-8 G's somewhere else.
