Default Resetting comp needed for Dual Exhaust?

I remember reading somewhere that after getting a dual set up, you should disconnect the battery for approx 15 minutes, in order to force the computer to reboot, and take full advantage of your dual setup (the gas mileage, etc)

Is this correct, can anyone verify?

Thanks

You shouldn't have too, but it can't hurt. You don't have to disconnect it for 15 min...im sure abotu 30sec will do the job.

i wouldt waste your time.. your not going to see a gas milage gain..

you may see it drop..

your foot has everything to do with tgas mialge when it comes to non tuned products. hell even tuned products..

1) your going to have better flow in for your motor. and you will have increased scavenging.. which is vacuum created by exiting exhaust gases to suck air in your motor.. more air = more fuel...

2) you got aftermarket exhaust, you want to hear it... more pedal = more fuel

#2 youll see a huge decline in gas milage.. and #1 you wont even notice a change if dont change your driving habits

When I put on my x-pipe-GT take off dual system, I drove it for a while, then disconnected the battery. I believe that you are right about the 15 minutes, that's what I was told also. After the engine learned to run again, it seemed to have more power and better gas mileage. In my opinion, if there is any doubt, just disconnect it. It'sabout as fastto pop off a battery cable as it is to write a post about whether or not to pop off the battery cable.

Yep, that's what I recomend. Disconnect the battery for 15 mins. Then reconnect. Drive it.
It takes around 5 drive cycles from a cold engine start for the adaptive to adapt and get everything properly tweaked up!
Don't expect top performance right off the bat.
Without resetting the MCU as above, the adaptive system won't figure out what to do with the lower back pressure and EGT's.
That's why not resettingMCU doesn't cause any noticeable changes.
The engine will run just fine as before but you won't get maximum benefit IMO.
As said above, it can't hurt. Just remember it takes 5 drive cycles from cold startto get it all tweaked up.

Is that 302 on your hood scoop?
Nice scoop. Where did you get it?
Not that I'd want 302 on mine, cause it ain't a 302;-). I wish it was though. BOSS is BOSS!
