Default Transmission Maint. (T-tech)

Doing service on an 05 V6.
T-tech machine wont work on these cars for some reason
T-tech is the transmission fluid machine that transfers out old fluid and new stuff in. Hooks up via trans cooler lines. We were getting no pressure.

Any input?

unless you have the proper tools to chcck and fill the trans from the pan afterwards, dont do it.

no dipstick makes it for a hard time to check the level

Yeah, I know about that. The beauty of the machine is what goes out, goes in.

Fazm Im gunna make an apointment with ford for them to check the level of fluid in my tranny cause im getting pariniod about it running dry. Don't know if its a leak or they just overfilled it alot and I mean alot.I see fluid on my oil pan everytime I pull out in the morning and its starting to tick me off. I just want to know if its leakingwho can u refer me too cause I want it fixed down the road. I gunna want a second opinion down the road. You know anyone that knows are trannys? What about that guy who built his?? When should I change it out 2? Im about to hit 20,000? They had it on the floor at 5,000 so they refilled it obviously so I got about 15,000 on the tranny fluid.

I don't understand our trannys? My old camaro never leaked and I beat the heck outta that thing. Never a tranny leak the whole 7 years I drove it. Same stock tranny and everything.

ive used a t-tech machine in my shop for years, i know exactly how it works. Its never exact, as when you crack the cooler lines, you loose some, theres a chance air is in the machine, air in the t-tech lines etc.

if you feel confident about your t-tech machine, go for it. But the proper way too service your transmission (or any 5r55 series transmission) is through the drain/fill plug on the transmission pan.

rick, bring your car by my shop tomorrow, ill check the transmissioon level for you and see what i can see on it.

and im glad you are mature enough to know im tryin to help you.

the tool itself is very cheap at ford, and it makes servicing the transmission easy. id recommend you (or the shop owner, or one of the mechanics) buy it

Defintly a good idea, since I think we came across the same thing with a newer Explorer just recently.
Expensive to keep up on the technology.
The owners are cheap, and would most likely make the techs themselves to buy it. They have 4 stores, and generally will buy one tools like that and just run it back and forth between the shops.

Thanks for the info!
When I managed another store we had a tech that used IATN, which is like a huge network of mostly professional mechanics. That was a huge help in some jams.
