I was thinking about buying a hood scoop the glue on ones and putting it on but before hand cutting a hole , not to large but ok size to were air can come in and cool it all down? it was just an idea but do you think if it rains too much water will get on the engine or will it be not to much water cause its not a forced induction?

yeh, that wouldnt bea smart thing to do.....

first of all you shouldnt get one that just sticks on...it will blow off. get a roush, and any air that youd get wouldnt help at all. the heat shield will barrier any air that isnt from within it. just get the scoop, and get a shaker later on if you want it.

someone second me on this. I think i got put down for asking this once

I think the Cervini's M1 hood scoop looks pretty sweet, good size for the look and dimensions of our V6's.

The B9 is nice too, although a bit larger.

Also, if you're looking to lower temperatures in your engine compartment,I'd figure thata heat extracting hood would be more helpful than a scoop.

Well..... My MRT hood's scoops just so happen to be right in front of the aftercooler and the blower itself... cooling them off!!! Before I put the MRT hood on you could not even get close to touching the blower after a short drive... even on a cool day! Now while, the blower is still hot you can touch it with out frying your finger! The aftercooler is also much cooler!

Interesting! I wonder how much you reduced underhood temps?

Thanks!

Sounds like a sweet setup scrming!
Soething from the first post that I don't think has been answered, what about water getting into a hood scoop induction system, like the shaker system. I have'nt owned much less driven a shaker or ram air equipped car, so can the water get enough into the system to have harmful effects?
