Default What’s up with our differentials?

What’s up with our differentials? If I do a burnout only my right tire burns out.
But if I have the left tire in the grass and the right one on the street only the left one spins out. What’s up with this if both tires are able to put down traction why would anyone want an lsd like the Detroit locker or whatever else is out there.

ford put open diffs in the v6 because they use the 7.5" rear end in them, if they were to put the tlok in there would be to much warrenty work as the tloks can break with as low as 210 rwft.lbs of torque, this is why in 1986 they started to put the 8.8s in GTs, because they toped 200 HP and 250 ft.lbs give or take

I dont understand why the mods have not put a technically challenged under your name........

You must have a rear end fetish, The only time you come in this section is when some thing said about rears and the info you give is WRONG!

wrong, i come in here to keep people from wasting money on stuff that will break witha 4000 rpm clutch drop with 212 ft/lbs of torque
http://3.8mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183112

that was done on a bolt on SINGLE port V-6.

the FFRP is NOT a preformance part, it is a factory replacement part for the bronco 2/ranger with a 2.9L 120 HP calogne motor

do you have any facts to prove me wrong other then few people with luck on here? try some of the more tech only sites, they will laugh at you for putting more then that on a 7.5 trash lok

Most Ford owners look down upon the 7.5" rear but it is a fairly tough unit. People have used them in 12-second cars without problems, and they're not nearly as weak as people make them out to be. If you're thinking about upgrading your 7.5" economically, you shouldn't have any reservations so long as you're not drag-racing heavily. The 7.5" rear is about 40-80 lbs. lighter than a comparable 8.8" rear. Keep in mind that while you can indeed swap in a locking center section on the 7.5" rear.......

The proof is here, on the S197 4.0 forum in which people who actually own theses cars and work on them. and have turned the times with a 7.5 Rear.

Dude, seriously, your an idiot, you come on here posting "proof" from a 3.8 site? not too mention you dont even own a S197? go bother the 4.6 section as you usually do.......
