I had Infinity KAPPA 6 1/2s put up front, they custom fit them, as well as KAPPA 6x9s in back. Took the shaker 500 out and put in a nice pioneer. Grabbed a 1516 watt infinity mono amp and hooked up a Kicker L5 to it.

It sound nice.

But I'm also an audio freak.

Next step is 4 channel amp for those interiors.

ok i have the standard. 4 speakers. I put 6 x 9's in the rear and I'm telling you that the front speakers really look like 6 x 9's. can anyone with the standard audio system confirm this?

All 4 speakers are 6x8/5x7.. I dont know how you managed to get those 6x9's in but I guess that will work.. The front doors are for sure 6x8's though! I just bought Infinity Kappas and References for the front doors and rear deck.. Have not installed them yet.

Yes all four speakers (rear deck and door) are 6x8's. I replaced all four of mine with Premier 6x8's as well as a Premier head unit. Not sure if you can fit the 6x9's or not. I get the "POP" sound when I turn my unit on too and im too lazy to go to Radio Shack and get a voltage regulator for a couple bucks. LOL... Maybe I will put that on my list of things to do.

Bought a pair of Infinity 6x8 2way, half price at best buy.
I wouldnt install these if I were you. Two way speakers are not something I would want in my system. The factory 8" speakers are great for mid bass. They keep up fine with my 2 kicker solo barics, and they are made by Audiophile which has a great product. You want those for your mid bass. 2-ways will take away from your mids and add to your highs, and our cars have great highs from factory. Add two subs to the back on a crossover, unhook the rear 4x6's, you dont want any highs and voice coming thru from the rear. All your bass from the rear and keep the voice up front. This will set the correct sound stage.

ALL of the speakers in the car (minus the subs if you have the Shaker system) are 5x7's. i have Polks in mine hooked up to a kicker amp (350.4), but i also have a 12" kicker in the back, so you may not need the amp, just make sure everything is running at RMS and not at peak watts or way under RMS to get good sound. oh and when you do install new speakers, dontup the bass from the head unit and crank it, get a bigger sub. otherwise you'll just **** up youre speakers and have to start over all over again.
