My t-lock/gear install will be $350.00 (labor), which is right in the middle of quotes I've heard.

I baught a Ford racing trak-loc from rpmoutlet.com for $169.00 and installed it myself but it shouldn't cost you more than 90 mins worth of labor for a good mechanic to install it. 90 mins. is absolutely max time if not overkill for an install.
You could try getting an estimate from the dealer. Sometimes they are cheaper and fasterthan any outside outfit.
Good luck

Right, anyway, dealers are generally more competitive with private shops these days. They have to be to survive. They only use Ford certified mechanics too. I was only suggesting he check it out if for any other reason just to get a comparison in pricing. There are good dealers and bad dealers just like there are good and bad private shops. Checking with the dealer can't hurt.

great question...
i was actually thinking about getting the t-lok as well, but then you figure...
i might as well get the gears done too, to save on install costs...
but then you are going to want to get the car re-tuned, and then if you are going to re-rune the computer, then you might as well get a good intake/tuner combo at the same time...
geez, i need more $$$$
