Question for the vortech guys.
hey guys, i was wondering... does the vortech bpv release the boost under most normal driving conditions, like 1/4 throttle and less or is it only under 0 throttle/deceleration? also, what kind of install prices have you guys been seeing? thanks.

RE: Question for the vortech guys.
could you do me a favor next time you drive your car then? get up to an rpm where you are usually making a fair amount of boost. now let off the throttle until like 1/4 throttle and keep it there, so you are still at those rpm's, but not decelerating/accelerating. if you are making boost the bpv isnt open. if you arent, it is open. thanks ahead of time to anyone that does this. oh and what kinda price did you get it installed for or did you install yourself?

RE: Question for the vortech guys.
did the install myself with help from my customs shop But installs should be 800 at minimum and 1400 max as vortech says install time is 8-12 hours. Thats what you would get charged for normally shops charge you for mfgs estimated time. Just depends if their nice if they go with the lower or the higher
Edit and ill try to do that test for you usually here it if i let go at 3700 or so rpm but it shard to do it right in the auto as when i "manually" Shift with it it starts bogging after like 2500 rpm for some reason im thinking bad tune maybe. Doesnt happen if i let it shift itself

RE: Question for the vortech guys.
Yes ..the vortech bpv does is partially open at idle and part throtle situations ...it only closes completely at full throtle. This is the reason why the bpv recirculates air back to the intake path ...since it is air that was already accounted for by the mass air.....if you vent it to the atmosphere you will face tune problems ...like stalling and such.

RE: Question for the vortech guys.
i may just have to take you up on that offer... my house is still only 25 minutes from their new location, so it'd be pretty easy for me. i wish getting a ride in cars with the different types of f/i for the 4.0 was as easy as getting a ride/test drive in stock cars, i am so confused as to what i want to do because i have no idea what a centri 4.0 feels like compared to a turbo 4.0or an x-charged 4.0 ahhhhh.
