i was thinking of whether or not i should take my car to get custom tuned at a dyno shop. i already have the 91 octane tune installed in my stang from the diablo unit but was wondering how much of a difference a custom tune would make in performance. i'm sure there will be some gains but my actual question is HOW MUCH GAIN? i guess i'm wondering if its worth taking to the dyno shop. anybody have any numbers or advice? thanks all.

If you get an sct and get custom tuned with an sct it will gain more than a diablo. I have diablo also but they kind of suck =/

I was wondering the same thing.

I have an SCT from Brenspeed with a 93 tune. It runs a lot stronger then stock, but I know the 4.0 has more in it. I've leaned the fuel mixure out a little more like 2% and 4%and tried it. I didn't really see a difference soI put it back. I don't know enough about the timing curves to mess with it but I would like to learn.

I am always looking for the maximum in everything and im never satisfied with what I have. I think of it as a good thing though. I plan on being an engineer and I will push the limits to new technology.

Im betting a good dyno tune will add some more power. Even if it's not a lot im sure it will smooth out the little bumps in the caned tune. I feel my car can run stronger from 4000-5000rpm...it almost pauses sometimes when I hit WOT at that rpm range before it takes off again.

I had a tune from Bamachips (I think), that was a couple years ago.
My first run on that tune was 187HP, and after the custom tune I was hitting 195.

I only have my 195 dyno run, I can't find the 187 sheet.

So I picked up 7/8 HP, about the same in torque.
