Difference between STOCK TB and aftermarket TB

Difference between STOCK TB and aftermarket TB
Can anyone cite a big difference between the two?
1.) Is there a different engineering design to offer a better performance than stock TB?
2.) Or they are just the same design with different material used?
Other member's opinion states it don't give any benefits nor HP, but why design a different one then?

RE: Difference between STOCK TB and aftermarket TB
They are probably made a little better then the OEM TB and look like they have a better finish...The difference is in the bore size. The after market TBs have a larger bore or biggeropening totheoreticlylet more air in the engine. Thats great, but the problem comes with the intake manifold. The OEM throttle body is big enough to allow the stock intake manifold to operate efficiently. Making the throttle body bigger does not effect the air flowsignificantlyenough to show any gains, as shown in past tests.
Its like having a funnel with a big cone and small opening on the stem...sure you can put more in it, but its flow islimited by the smaller end...ok crap example but its late and im tired praying for a snow day tomorrow...
