hmmm, it really depends on how much installation is. The cheapest unit (not tuner kit) I have seen is the vortech from superchargersonline.com, for 2.7k
However, the centrifugal systems are generally harder to install, which could be a reason to go with a roots (Xcharger is the only one). The X is like $700 more, but installation is much faster

Well, I have heard that it takes around 5 hours to install. In my neck of the woods I would say around $700, and an additional $300 for custom tuning

Witnessed the installs and i would say it would take a person probably 6-8 hours fo rinstall with some ok mechanic skills. Probably about 4-5 if you know your stuff.

do you think the xcharger is the best option for total price including install? or is there a more affordable or reliable one out there?

I had minimal experience adding mods to cars and I did the XCharger in about 11 hours. I took my time. What's the rush? I worked on it over 4 days. And, being able to install it myself was key, I wanted the experience and it saved a lot of money.

i think that the vortech h/o with low boost (around 6psi) would be the most reliable. however, this is possibly the most expencive option
