Default Haynes Manual?

Anyone know when they plan on releasing a Haynes (or equivalent) manual for our cars? I haven't seen any around. I've always found it helpful to have one laying around in case I need to do some impromptu work on my car.

I have torn my Saturn completely apart using them : ) Awesome little books!

Basically they are a step by step manual for how to test, tear apart, put back together, WITH PICTURES

Just an FYI for anyone who may be looking for this: Amazon claims an availability of August 15, 2007. Could they have taken any longer on this?

The Ford DVD's are useful, but they're not well illustrated, and have line drawings not actual photos.

Anyone doing a lot of work on their car would be well served by having both.

Also the Haynes manuals typically have good tips on performing repairs using commonly available tools, whereas the Ford shop manual is filled with "Use special tool #C3567-A/1A" type references.

I've heard haynes isn't too good, but I have an old haynes manual for my vw bug and it seems fine. Not sure about the ebay stuff. My dad bought a cd off ebay once for a bmw motorcycle and I wasn't too impressed. Mitchell On-Demand is probably the best bet but it costs over 12 grand as far as I recall. I'm not sure if Ford has anything outside of their dealership network. If they do, that'd be second to none although Mitchell has a lot of shop feedback built into their product.
