Default Effect on MPG with a tuner

Excluding the " lead foot " side effect that may be present with a tune , how would installing a tune effect my mileage ?

Thanks for any feedback .

I got horrible gas milage before.. so this all may be relative... but I am already getting +3mpg with a CAI and 87 octane tune.

I have to say it again.. people said a tune would wake up the car... I'm just surprised how asleep it was.... Just the shifting itself makes a big difference... almost feels like a stick.
