Traction control is switchable... unless something changed that I don't know about... ???? I have a TCS button in the middle of the dash right next to the hazzard button...

The quality of the engine/drivetrain really impressed me too!
I have owned V8 cars for years, '70 Cougars (351), '70 Torino (429CJ) and even a '68 LTD (390 Marauder)... swore I'd never buy a 6...
The acceleration was quite impressive for a 6. The traction control (which I wish was switchable) is actually a good thing when the weather starts to suck. The ABS is fantastic! I stopped this baby on a dime the month after I got when some bozo backed out of his driveway right into traffic on a wet morning. My wife braced for impact as I smoothly came to a stop.
If I had been driving the Torino there would have been nothing left of his Honda after I plowed through him. Basicially, the Torino could be summed up thusly: "Looks like a fish, goes like a bear, steers like a cow!".
I ordered my T-LOK last week and look forward to putting it to use. I am really suprised these are so affordable.
I compared other cars and came to the conclusion that it was the most bang for the buck that really looked sweet!

Anyone else get suprised by the power driving the 4.0L for the first time?

RE: the power of the v6 suprised me...
I was very surprised when I test drove it. I've only really gotten on it a few times. As a matter of fact yesterday I was making a right turn onto a busy 2 lane highway. Kept it in "D" turned TC off and nailed it. Right tire spun all the way thru 1st gear and I was up to 70 in no time. Of course a hard right turn always helps for burn outs, but I'm amazed a V6 Automaticcan do this.

most bs is the little recognition it gets....
the gti...with its numerous worldwide recognition as a speed demon
"Surprisingly, the DSG-equipped car is fractionally quicker, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds, versus 7.2 for the regular manual. "
WTF this car is slower than ours!
and I think the quarter mile is 15... With a CAI and a tune ours is down to 14.7! I hate how our car gets labeled by the press in comparasson to the gt as oppose to all the other cars in the market..

The thing I'd like to know is why road and track , motor trend, or car and driver has never done a test on the manual ? The only test I ever saw on the manual was from modern racer which was 0-60 in 6.6
