How to Burnout?

RE: How to Burnout?
On a related note, last night on a deserted dry 2-lane, I pulled out in the 5-speed coupe and got on it hard for the first time since the 4.10's/LSD. When I made the 1-2 shift, I actually spun 'em enough to engage the traction control system! I've done that before in V8's, but never in my 4.0L - WOW!

Thats correct. In fact, I pump my breaks when I stage, to help lock the front brakes. Then give it the gas to do the burn out. Problem with that is like you said, you kill your rear brakes. The best way to deal with that is a set of line locks, which will disable the rear brakes. Which reminds me that I need a set of those. LOL.

RE: How to Burnout?
Hi Guys!
Looks like spring is coming! Snow is melting (the 24" in the front yard is now about 6") and the sand is everywhere.
Coming off our shortcut last night, I had to make a left turn onto the main road. After coming down the steep hill in 2nd, I dropped it in first and came to a stop.
Some dude in a jacked up 4x4 gave me the wave in front of him and I poked the pedal.
Being in some sand, the back end broke loose but we still surged forward. Turning left I gave it more gas and swung the back end out. Still spinning, I shifted up to 2nd and gave it more gas. Tires were still spinning all the way till I shifted into 3rd.
Sounded really sweet!
I had to laugh when I looked in the rearview mirror because the guy in the 4x4 was still sitting on the main road watching!
I love my V6.
25MPG and still fun to drive!
SOHC
PS: This was BEFORE my T-LOC was installed! Can't do 200+ ft rippers anymore...

RE: How to Burnout?
If you have enough power to break the tires lose without power braking u can just barely hold down the brake so you dont idle forward and slam down the gas. Thats what I do in my truck in the rain but in the Mustang I just rev it up and pop the clutch.

those were 18's, but when I was doing the burnouts it was in my stock 16's which I have on now. I can't remember if I ever did one with my rims on since I only had them on for a few months before I took them off for the winter.

Did you use to have 17's? In your picture I see now you might be running 18's or are those 20's? Maybe that was the difference.. not sure if you were running 17's before though..

I have an auto and I use the hold the brake and gas at the same time method, but for some reason it doesnt work anymore. It used to work really easy, now nothing! Anybody have any clue as to why?
