Default Aux for stereo

I have the base factory stereo and was wondering if there was and auxillary port hidden somewhere or is it just on the back of the head unit? TIA for all help.

In that case, I guess there isn't one, cuz I know they sometimes hide them in the glove compartment, center console or places like that, but didn't see one. Thanks.

You gotta go buy the "P.I.E. FRD04-AUX Auxiliary Interface Ford" from Crutchfield item # 469FRD4AUX . Easy to install, plug into the headunit, and give it +12V and ground and you have an instant aux input. And it tucks away real nice under the headunit. Gives you a set of RCA inputs for any kind of audio equipment you might have. But your headunit has to have an AUX button on it to work.

It's not there either. If you have an '05 your stereo is no set up for it. You can buy interface devices to make it work.

I have the standard radio in my Pony, and this is exactly what I needed. Installs fairly easy, tapping into a 12v source is the most difficult part. Matched with a new set of speakers, stereo sounds great!

I've heard that with the FRD-04 AUX adaptor, there isa dial for output adjustment that must be set properly during install, otherwise the output sounds poor. Is this difficult to set?

BTW, I've seen these adaptors on eBay for about $75.

There is a small dial on the unit that is turned by a small screwdriver. It limits the amount of output volume that will be sent to the stereo. I set mine to max so that I can control how much output I want to use from by iPod, and the radio is at its full potential to operate.
