Man, lots of clips if you search the forums. I would put it on anyway even if it cost $$$. Wont take long and You will love it. Increase in response, and much nicer sound. I went with the Flowmaster single axleback but the GT take-off is nice and it's stainless....

How big of a difference in sound between the two..?

Also.. to the original poster.. just put it on.. sounds much better when you get on it.. a little different at idle.

This is plenty covered in other lower posts, but the main diff is that the Flowmaster is a deeper lower tone and about twice as loud as the GT at WOT (it will make heads turn). But neither one will drone at highway speeds due to chambered design. The straight thru designs ( SLP, MRT etc will make your teeth wiggle at speed. My wife would not let me go that far....hehe

I just put a full exhaust on my car with two GT takeoffs and I love the sound. It has a nice little rumble and sounds great at speed, it does not have the typical V-6 sound. V-6 muffler is held on with like 8 bolts.

billybix76, are you telling me you don't notice drone with the Flowmaster AT axleback? I have one on my car, and I'd say it's pretty drone-y. Enough so that I constantly consider going back to stock. Only thing that keeps it on my car is how great it sounds outside of the car.

Oh I notice, its just not obnoxious at 1700-2100 RPM, (freeway speeds around here). Now above that rpm range it starts to bark like a hurt dog.... and somewhere in the 1200-1500 range it also speaks a little. so it is not a stock sound at normal cruising, but have you sat a v6 with an MRT? I think you can cary on a conversation but im not sure as i couldnt hear myself shout.....

Oh, no question about the MRT or SLP's. Those things are made to make their presence known at all times. If you're intent is to carry on a conversation in your car, those are the wrong mufflers.

There is no bad question. A drone is the audible humming exhaust (sometimes loder than road noise) sound that resonates inside the car especially with the windows up.
