I am going to buy a tuner of some sort off of ebay but most of the good dealsclaim that they are for GTs. Some say that they are for both engines, butI just want to be sure. I dont want to buy something that wont be compatable with my car... for obvious reasons.

A Diablo or SCT handheld tuner will work on many different cars, but the tunes loaded into the handheld are specific for a car and its components. A tune for a GT will not work on a V6 (and visa-versa). Canned tunes are available from several different "tuners", and they get loaded onto the handheld. A Tuner willneed the ECU code shown under the hood to mate the handheld to the car. Once a handheld is coded to your car, you can use it to change the tunes for the vehicle. If you ever want to sell the tuner (or buy one used), the car needs to be returned to stock (parts-wise) and the handheld needs to be reset to stock. Then the handheld can be recoded to another vehicle.
