Are you guys talking about "wrinkles" or actual "wear"(which indicates the leather is getting smooth and looking like it may crack apart). Leather is supposed to wrinkle up a bit, have any of you guys ridden(or driven) any SN-95/New Edge cars with leather seats? The leather on those cars gets wrinkled as soon as you sit in them and look 20 years old after the first year. Wrinkles are normal, just make sure you keep your seats clean and conditioned(remember, it's SKIN, it must be kept moist and pliable). I clean mine every few days, look great after 9 months(although I noticed a scuff about a 1/2 inch long in the left outer side, which is vinyl, abovewhere the lower plastic trim piece meets the seat, I used a little shoe polish to make it disappear)

Mine has 2000 miles on it and the "leather" is actually worn and cracked. It looks like I rubbed it with sand paper and I don't wear anything (cell phone, etc) on my belt.

Will Ford warranty this defect?

Which part of the seat is leather and which part is vinyl? I was cleaning the black plastic parts in the rest of the interior and got a little of the armour all on the back of the front seat near the side and a week later it still looks pretty good, I was thinking of just putting armour all on the seats, the expensive leather cleaner/conditioner seems to wear off after a day or two..car has 20,000 and the seats look like they have 120,000 on them.

Only the middle of the seats are leather. The rest is vinyl. I think the entire back seat is vinyl.

My solution:

Racing seats and a rear seat delete.

just putting conditioner on the seats aren't stopping the premature wear,i do it about every 3 car washes and it still does it.it looks almost like they have scratches on them.

I have GT Take-offs in my car and have noticed a little wear. They are about 5 months old. Because of this wear, I consulted my local upholstry shop, and they told me to touch up the leather using a good leather paste, and then treat it with a good leather conditioner. Because they are black, I was able to lightly use what they call Lincoln Shoe wax. (If you have ever had to spit shine a set of combat boots, you may be familiar with it.) I know this sounds wierd, but it was one of the brands suggested. It worked well, especially after using Miguire's leather treatment afterwards. Living in a sandy area, for the moment, is hard on leather, but it was worse on the cloth. These seats do not show the same amount of wear as my last car did after the same amount of time. I had to have them replaced after only 4 months.

I have Katzkin custom seats in mine. They are getting the lines from sitting on it, but no wear. I use Meguir's Leather Spray Cleaner / Conditioner on them (bottle claims it even has aloe in it!). Maybe we should start posting pics to compare the damage / issues?
