I thinkthe 8"will look good. I'm not sure which length I will choose. I'm a little concerned about reception, although the description in the eBay link claims that reception will either improve or remain the same.

I have a question regading antennaeas. I have a Berklin FM ipod interface for my car ,works pretty but since I live in San Diego where most FM stations are being used sometimes I get some noise when I use it. I have been told that if I could "lower" the antennea it would help but I thought if I could install a switch of some kind to just eliminate the antennea when I am not listening to the radio that would work. Has anyoe done this and how? Thanks

Yep, the 8" still looks better than the stock antenna, but personally I think the 14" antenna is the ideal way to go for appearance on our cars. Even better would be the antenna delete (get the fender welded closed and painted over), but whatever.

As for reception, I can't speak for the 8", but my 14" antenna from AmericanMuscle or wherever has had literally no change in reception at all. In the city, the shorter antennas are still fine, it's apparently just an issue out in the country, or if you live in little tiny town that doesn't have decent radio towers. If you're in city of any size though, you're pretty much fine with the shorter antennas. If you do a lot of travelling in the country, just keep the stock one so you can switch back if radio reception is an issue.

Or, just load up the cd player, or even better, put on a nice growly aftermarket exhaust, roll the windows down, turn off the radio and make some noise. My exhaust is way nicer to listen to than any crappy radio station.

I have the 8" and love it. Looks real good. No noticable loss of reception. Can actually use a car cover too. the 14" is OK but a little too long for the cover. either beats the Stock sail mast...Knocking birds out of the sky, picking up stations in South America......

The FM transmitter transmits to your antennea.. so if you remove it.. neither would work (radio or iPod).
