JBA Duals - Frustrated

RE: JBA Duals - Frustrated
I am currently running the JBA True Duals with the H-Pipe, and they also rattle like crazy, both at idle and around 2k rpm. A shop tried to straighten them and all they succeeded in doing is making the rattle move to the other side, cause they also ride too close to the spare tire well. Overall, though the JBAs sound and look good, they are unrelenting rattle traps, so I wouldn't recommend thedualsas a fix for your current problems. If I can't get mine to stop rattling, I'm going with a custom setup and just reuse the JBA mufflers.

knock on wood....my pypes is not really rattling at all, other than the stupid xpipe construction defect, that i need to have midas fix, and shove the bill up pypes' butt. This is a standard problem if you hear a rattle from your dash. (TSB)

One thing I heard on a different brand was the hanger bar (lets call it) was too longon one side and they had to cut an inch off it. Get underneath with the suspension loaded (on wheels) and crawl around feeling for tight spots.

And it appears that the hanger bar was the problem. I took it back to the dealer today andthe tech took another look at it and said that he felt that there was a hanger thatshould betrimmed to allow more space. It hasn't made a sound since! Nice call! Thanks for all of the help. It sounds sweet!

I had that same problem with mine. It still rattles a little but I need to change the drivers side muffler hangers to the stock gt ones and it should be fine. That is most of the culprit.

RE: JBA Duals - Frustrated
Alright now let me throw my two cents in. We just installed the flowmaster duals conversion for the v6. It was faily easy. Sounds awesome. On the way from the shop at idle it developed a terrible rattle. Monday we put it back on the rack. The pipes were hitting the spare tire well at times and yes the hangers could be stiffer. we readjusted the pipes which are all connected via clamps and did a tiny bit of bending and prying with a 1x2 piece of wood and problem solved. Hope this helps.
