STRUT TOWER BRACE

RE: STRUT TOWER BRACE
Why not? If you can duplicate it and make it look real nice with smooth welds and powder coated you should be able to move a few. Maybe even offer custom colors and personalized center section....

haha...I wish!!

Nice job! Looks like a prototype of the next Mustang product to hit the market, if you know what I mean....

what exactly does the strut tower brace do? sorry guys. i really don't know much and still trying to figure all this stuff out. i'm assuming from what i've read it just makes the chasis more rigid.
and what are sway bars?
sorry for asking something i should know

RE: STRUT TOWER BRACE
You should only know something after you learn it, no sorry needed.
A strut tower brace makes a solid connection between the two front shock tower mounts. This helps stiffen up the front end when cornering. Naturally with unibody construstion the frame will want to flex when forcesare applied. The front shock towers tend to flex in toward the engine (want to come together.) This allows for the the front end to feel loose when turning.
When the strut bar is installed it holds the two shock towers where they are at rest. When you turn, the car will feel more planted and not sway as much. By connecting the two towers the forces exerted kind of cancels eachother out.
Sway bars help in a similar way. They connect the right and left traveling suspension components.
When turning without sway bars, the car would want to lean in the corner due to the centrifugal force of a turn. That feel is highly unstable as the weight of the car in not under control, and the car can spin out or flip at high enough speeds.
Asway bar connected to the right and left travel components helpskeep the car level during a turn. When one wheel travels up, the connection to the other side makes it want tomove inthe same direction and also stiffens both sides of the suspention at the same time.
Not the best explanation...but it should help.
