Default Glue leftovers?

Well, I got out early today so I decided to wash and wax the car... but before I got started I thought... hey why not get rid of those dumb "side spears" so I did. It was way hot outside, so they peeled right off. I scraped off what was left of the double stick tape, and washed the sides with soapy water. There is a small problem though...when I rinsed the sides the spears were still outlined in water, like they were still there, but invisible or something like that. I'm guessing its because there is still glue or something left over, even though the sides feel smooth and clean. Should I just deal with it? or is there any way to fix it?

Here's a picture of the "side spears" incase anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about. (it is an OLD pic btw, she looks ALOT different now)

Get some Goo Gone and it will removethe glue residuewithout hurting your finish. I've also read on this forum where members have used WD-40.

It may just need to be waxed since the strip has always covered the area. It probably has never seen wax in that area.
