Default RE: Decided to sell my Vortech

For those cautiosly interested........

I havedecided to send the blower unit into Vortech for inspection and rebuild (if necessary).

This should clear any concerns on the condition of the unit.

I am still lookingfor early next month as far as availability.

Cheers!!

would you be selling the predator with it or seperately? I already have a tuner and for all i care, if i buy this you could keep the predator. The price is already great, i'm just wondering what you plan on doing with it.

The predator was sold long time ago. I had a tune made for my SCT xcal-2 from VMP. I need the Xcal sorry.

But your tuner should be able to make a tune for your diablo, I believe the base tune is available from diablosport for download free of charge, I think .....but don't quote me on that....... you might want to check with them to be sure.

Awesome price.
What were your quarter mile times with this?
Any idea what the horsepower/torque were on the dyno?

And how did it affect your gas mileage?
Thanks!

Hey,

Here is the the skinny on times and HP.......

This car is not only my daily driver, but it also is my "only driver" I have always ran very conservative tunes, the kind that pulls timing back agressively based on heat or other factors. That said, the car made 302 rwtq and 287rwhpon a Mustang dyno.....adding 10% to convert to a dynojet reading it translates roughly to 330 rwtq and 315rwhp... that was with a very conservative tune.

as far as track numbers, I have been to the track 3 times:

Because of my stupidity, I relocated the IAT sensor to after the cooler, but never bother toupdate the tune (I didn't know better) so my car was running thestock timing aganist much higher compressedair temps....the result was timimg pulling hard robbing me of top end speed.....best time was 15...yep pretty bad

After updating the tune, stillon a very conservative tune I went 14.2......( nowlooking at my run, I took .7 - .8 of a second on every shift....)Do the math, If I would have "speed shifted" I would have been mid 13's easily with street tires and a conservative tune, but is my daily driver so I "granny shift" to save my tranny a little longer.

For those of you interested, the unit is going to Vortech for a full inspection this friday, and if it needs it, a rebuild. So whoever gets this unit, will be getting a manufacturer certified unit, no worries aboutthe performance.

Thereare Vortech 4.0's withmore agressive tunes running 12's (check the 40coll ective slip db)...

Hope that helped......

For those of you that have responded with interest in the kit.

The head unit is being send to Vortech today for a full inspection, and it should be back in my hands in a couple of weeks. I will begin the disassembly of the cooling and intakesystem this weekend and so thewholekit will be available for shippment in 2-3 weeks.

I am going to leave as much pre-assembled as possible to really make the reinstall in another car as simple as possible, and I will take pics of where things fit as I take them off, this info along with the install manual shouold make it a breeze to install.

Thanks.

It's about darn time! Good for you Tino (and the unnamed buyer) - I figured your supercharger wouldn't last long.
