An Ocean Water sounds friggin good right about now.

I've gotten the same BS spiel from ******* kids ever since my first mustang, a 00' 3.8L auto. Their vocabulary and car knowledge only permits them to ask... "V8?" and "Stick?", and if it's neither, you're a joke. Nevermind the fact that they drive KIA's, Escorts, and Geo's. Also, nevermind the fact that their concept of modding never exceeds the realms of "seat belt pads" "APC decals" and "Performance JDM Air Fresheners".

I pull into Sonic this afternoon for an Ocean Water and there are these young men standing around a pickup truck talking. One of them yells "hey that a GT?". I reply, "no V6". A guy laughs and says "a 6 banger? What's the point of buying one of those POS! Damn I bet it's an automatic too!" He and his friends all high five, laugh, high five some more. Obviously they are easily entertained.

I step out of my car. I'm 6'4" and 260 pounds (I'm not fat). I walk over to the guy and ask, "how old are you?" He replies, "23 dude"...(dude?)

I look him square in the eye and say, "son, I'm 55 years old, been divorced twice, been shot at and killed a man...do you REALLY think I care what a 23 year old says about anything I drive?" Got back in my car.

Silence. Then a low, mumbled..."uh yes sir...."

Got my drink and left. Look back and they were all standing there looking like I just took their favorite Crayons from them.
Why confront them at all?

great comeback- hopefully they'll be a bit less 'punky' from now on, and think next time before trying to smart off and look like an idiot again

I think most people around here either don't know the difference, don't care, or think since I have a pony grille that I'm driving a V8 with the GT's taken off the sides. I don't really need/want a 4.6L because Ford came out with better V8's. What's next you'd have a GT and people would laugh because you don't have a GT500, then you have a GT500 and people laugh because you don't have a corvette. It doesn't end. I bet those lackeys were driving in a civix dx or some nonsense like I've seen mustang mockers drive before. Anyway if I wanted a V8, I would've felt SCREWED when that gt500 came out and also that parnelli jones is nice. I've been hearing that the V6 engine itself might have better connecting rods in it than the V8. I'm thinking now about where will I be at 10 years from now? Maybe get a crate v6 and tranny from ford and have the dealer put them back in and fix whatever else needs to be done. Nothing's going to be the same in 2016 with fords, I say enjoy this BODY STYLE now while you can, who cares what is under the hood as long as it isn't a 4cyl, that would be a slug. This V6 is fast, I don't give a damn about a v8.

I think you hit it perfectly there. I have gotten some flak for having the 6 from ricers. They usually end upa couple bus lengths behind me and slowly catch up and roll their windows up.

"Performance JDM Air Fresheners".

Man you guys run into some tough ones!

Theonly negative comment I've gotten is from a guy at work (that owns a 2004 V6 vert).

I think its just sour grapes since he didn't wait 1 more year for the 2005 bodystyle!!

Plus when he heard my duals, it really sent him over the edge.

LOL

Yeah, your co-worker is probably jealous that he didn't wait one more year for the new body style as well as the difference in hp....190 Vs 210. Then again, he may be kicking himself for not getting the 2004 SVT Cobra with 390 hp.
