ORIGINAL: s2kIs it a night and day differance since the v-6s stock ones can break at speeds of 110?
SO are you happy with it then?

So does this mean that since Joe is now going with the 8.8 rear end that he has to change his drive shaft again -- after adding the new one piece aluminum?
I think he is staying with the same one. Not sure I haven't talked to him fully but he might be able to keep it.
Yes he can keep it... just needs to change the flange on the 8.8....
Holy cow John that is some great info....Nice find too.

I have found this spec sheet to come in very handy: http://www.v6john.com/Main/Other/2005mustang_specs.pdf

And Turbo_J has a great 7.5 to 8.8 swap write-up... i believe it's a sticky at the collective..

Yes i can keep my driveshaft, i went to the dealer and bought the pinion flange that is recommended for the v6 shaft to mate to the 8.8 rear end. I also ordered the LPW girdle from powerhouse and it should be here on thursday. I already got the rear end so i am ready to go but my buddy with the hoist in his pole barn is in Tennessee till thursday so he said we could do it on sat.
John i read that sticky of TJ's and it was very informative so i don't see a problem with getting it done on sat.

Glad you're going to be able to get your car back on the road soon. Maybe you can come up to Port Huron for Cruise Night on July 13?

Thanks for posting that spec sheet John. David built me a new driveshaft based on a measurement I took sunday. I hope to GOD my measurement was accurate enough. But I have a bad feeling it isn't, as I didn't notice a huge difference jacking the car up from the rearend.

Oh and I have no driver because I sold my GT this weekend..... Everything happends the wrong way for me BOO WHOOO..

Ok I'm done crying.

Thanks again for the quick responses guys I really appreciate the help.

Well driveshaft turned out good. David is a great guy and I highly recommend his drive shafts. I could feel a huge difference in vibration and noise reduction. The drivetrain feels more stable at higher speeds.

Thanks a lot David!

David, good to see you here. Great product and it seems as if you are getting a slight following. Great job with the D/S, great price too.
