No? You've heard 2 stories with 3 full years of production, not enough for me to be worried. We can all just hope these aren't like the 3.8 and blow head gaskets at 60k..

what kinda gas are you using and getting pinging? 87 im assuming...maybe it's because the s&b leans out the a/f ratio because of increased flow, just a little bit too much. Who else blew a stock 05 motor? what were they running?

the funny thing is, tht when they took the intake manifold off it stopped pinging all together, and my knock sensors were not going off either. thts wat they first thought it was,but they are keeping it over the weekend. so they can blow the damn thing up 4 all i care anymore. and the transmission has a front seal leak too. but thts to be expected i guess.

and the pinging is constent, and doesnt change in frequency when the enginge revs up. just monotone, no change in pitch, or increase amount of pinging
