Buying Used Exhaust
should i stay away from used exhaust? Like if i bought 2 flowmaster 40's that came off a 5.0 or 4.6 and i put them on a V6, would they sound better/worst? Do mufflers need to be broken in by the same engine. My guess would be no. I plan on buying some old flowmasters, paint them silver to make them look new and go DUALS..................Who's with me?!?!

RE: Buying Used Exhaust
If the used mufflers look good and the price is right I'd say go for it. I bought a used Flowmaster from another guy in our club for $40. It was just like new and the price was right. After about 6 months my wife got tired of it and we couldn't hardly hear the Cd player at highway speed. I replaced it with a GT takeoff. It is louder than stock but does not have the drone of the flowmaster. Got the GT takeoffs for $45 and $30 shipping on e-bay.
