Default Tune & CAI question.

How much difference is there between having a CAI + tune, and just having the tune?

In HP, maybe 5-7. In coolness....priceless. At a show two weeks ago, i got lots of looks at the CAI and nobody cared about which tune i was using.

a cai is going to make quite a bit of gains. just save up and get both at the same time. you wont regret it. you gotta pay to play.

Well I already have the tuner. It's the CAI I don't have. And I don't care about the coolness, I don't show it off like that. The hood stays shut unless I need to do something in there.

well i just bought a tuner and cai. I tuned it first and drove it, it was alot better, but when i put the C&L on it really complimented the tune or vise versa. U should get the CAI, its worth itfor the throttle response, and the sucking sound is cool too.

If you dont care what the CAI looks like (to each his own) I would recommend VMP, cheaper than C&L . But you will have to get your tune adjusted to any aftermarket CAI's much higher air flow or you will run very lean. Brent's 91 tune would not even idle with the stock air box. I tried it before the C&L install...

Well, I ordered the JLT from Doug since he said the new tunes would be free since I got the tuner from him. I just hope it arrives by tomorrow since I am going on a 3,000 mile trip starting Wednesday morning.
