Install lowering springs question
I have a 2005 V6 Mustang. I have a opportunity to buy a set of Eibach Pro lowering springs at a good price. This is a question for the ones that have installed them. Is a rear end alignment needed? Are there any issues on doing this mod or just putting them on is all that is needed.
I am also adding a GT takeoff rear sway bar.

RE: Install lowering springs question
Pretty sure the rear will not need to be aligned. However, the front most lickley will have to be and also Caster/Camber Plates will be needed. Look at some of the stickeys in the forums, they have good advice. Theres one in the 3.8l section by Ryansquick6 that will come in usefull. Good job on the swaybar, i noticed when i installed mine. Good Luck

RE: Install lowering springs question
the rear end is solid=no alignment, the front end does not need caster/camber plates because the camber is adjusted by slotting bolt holes in the struts where the knuckles bolt in and caster is adjusted by drilling on the lower control arm. dont worry about the drilling for the caster as 99% chance you wont need it especially with low miles, camber may be off a bit so dont count out having to slot the strut holes.

RE: Install lowering springs question
If you lower your car at all you are messing with caster and camber. This will cause pre-mature tire wear and some front end parts. They can be adjusted, but only with factory specs. Anything over 1.5 you need them. You dont have to have them to lower your car, but if you dont get them its just stupid wear on your car

RE: Install lowering springs question
I installed the Eibach Pro kit over a year ago without any camber adjustment at the front.Drove about 15.000 mls since then but I can`t see any unusual tire wear at the front. I think camber adjustment should have been done when lowering more than 1 inch. But the car will be allright with the Eibach kit without any further adjustments.

RE: Install lowering springs question
please dont slot the holes . i used camber bolts when i did mine. they are 14mm bolts with a camed area in the middle. you replace your regular bolts with them and they give you adjustment. they have been used for years and are under 40 bucks. most alignment shops have them or napa autos.
