So I went through the drive through car wash and I noticed my MUSTANG stripe underneath the door is starting to come off! Of course the car wash takes no responsibility for this, so I'm SOL. I'm thinking maybe I'll just take it off all the way on both sides. Would I need to take it somewhere to remove it or is it something I can do?

Wow, shoulda put on my flame suit! haha No I almost always wash it myself, but yes, I had been busy at the time and was in town running errands (I live out in the boondocks and barely get into the city) so I decided to just take it through the wash, as it was really dirty and I wanted to have it lookin pimp while I was in town. ANYWAY...should I to take it to a body shop to get the stripe delete done or could I do it myself pretty easily?

It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes as well. It's said to be better to have your car heated up a bit to loosen the vinyl, but you shouldn't worry about that in Montana right now (beautiful place.) On another note, try to not peel up and straight away from the Mustang, but peel it back where the rest of the sticker is.

Members here have used a hair dryer till it crinkles up (heat it slowly). Then use a GOO GONE or denatured alcohol to remove residues. [/align][/align][/align]

The dealership had not added the stripe on my pony yet so they gave me an IOU for the work. I think I will leave it off, I think it looks sharp and I knew I would get it with the pony package but since its not on yet I have grown to like the cleaner look.

This thread of "coming off" makes me think its the correct choice. Have may folks have issues with their stripes coming off?
