Dual Exhaust for V6
Hello,
I'm new to the whole customizing cars. and i was wondering how hard would it be to install a dual exhaust to a Mustan '07 V6 5 speed manual. could i do it myself is there more involved in it than just removing the old one and putting in the new one?. or do you guys think i sould get someone experienced to do it.
Also if you guys can recomend any that would be great. i heard that installing some exhaust increase horse power. could you recomend which ones and how much HP gain from the swap.
Thanks

RE: Dual Exhaust for V6
If I put the GT duals on my V6, will it negatively affect the performance with a lot less restrictive back pressure?
In other words - will I need to retune the engine at all? I know using the single GT actually helps performance.

Duals does not adversely effect performance.
They will definitely increase enjoyment!
You can choose varying degrees of volume: from stock GT mufflers to Pypes Street Pros and MRTs...
I like em LOUD. Pypes for me...

I searched video clips and websites for 2 months before deciding...
Enjoy the research.

RE: Dual Exhaust for V6
well, I already haveone GT take off on there and it sounds good. After reading the how to install article, I will be getting an X pipe, hangers, and exhaust pipe for the other take off. I plan to do it myself w/o any welding.

I installed dual GT mufflers (from a manual car) on my wife's 06 Pony without an X pipe 1st. It had a ricer sound and lost performance, 1/4 time went from 15.7 to 15.9.
Installed an X pipe and it sounds really good now. Have a little vibration at idle and a dead spot at 5500rpms. Got 206rwhp on the dyno. 1/4 time dropped to 15.5.
Installed a C&L cold air package & custom tune. Idles smooth, the dead spot is gone. Haven't been to the dyno yet. 1/4 time dropped to 14.8,hada hard time hooking up. Even ran a 14.8 with the A/C on full blast.
The X pipe is a must and at least for my wife'scar the cold air & tunemakes it all work together.
Click on the link below to see & hear it run down the 1/4mile.

RE: Dual Exhaust for V6
Looks like I finally found the information and the post I was looking for.....
Where do I find the rear fascia that is going to allow me to run duals?
If I dont get the rear fascia with the dual cutouts - - what are my other options? Someone in another section said something about dumps??
Anyone here able to help me out here???? I want a great sounding ride (muscle, not rice) that isnt going to cost me a fortune.....
THANKS....
