Default Fun @ Mason Dixon Today with the 4.0

Well, couldn't find a test and tune this weekend so RB6 and I decided to run at the points race at Mason Dixon today. We entered trophy class, which was like 4 cars. LOL. We were really there for time trials from noon to 4pm, and we only managed 2 runs.

Doing what I did at Old Dominion just over a week ago, I lauched the car the same way and got a really good 60ft. As follows:

RB6 (Tony)/Me [ul][*]60ft: 2.126 / 1.785[*]330: 5.485 / 4.930[*]1/8: 8.237 / 7.595[*]MPH: 88.50 / 89.80[*]1000: 10.584 / 9.865[*]1/4: 12.611 / 11.781[*]MPH: 110.61 / 118.19 [/ul] Both of us were really happy with the cars. Tony's came in real solid and that was on street tires. So while we waited, we put his DR's on.

On the second run, we didn't get to run each other. He went first and clocked a 12.5 with a 1.9x 60ft. WOW! That is with 331 gears! That car is running real strong.

As for my run. I got a good burn out, started to pre stage adn noticed the car next to me did not prestage yet. So I waited for him and prestaged. I start power braking the car.....

...waiting for the amber lights...no lights. I mean this is after 4 seconds easy, and the car is building boost like crazy.....I look over...he still has not staged. Ugggg. Annoying....so I drop the rpms down, but the car is still building boost....a lot of it. Ambers hit....I launch.

This is probably the hardest launch I ever got off with this car. And it scared the living **** out of me. The car fishtailed like crazy, I thought I would have to get out of it...but recovered and clocked the following: [ul][*]60ft: 1.944[*]330: 5.198[*]1/8: 7.872[*]MPH: 89.06[*]1000: 10.163[*]1/4: 12.094[*]MPH: 117.26 [/ul] That run make me pucker up big time. I havent had that feeling at the track since the time I launched the 100 shot off the line on a hard launch and went straight for the wall.

All in all it was a great time. Tony's car ran real strong! We saw a Z06 there....running low to flat 13's. There was a Cobalt SS. I asked the owner what he ran...he hesitated and said 16's. I was like "shes got more left on the table for sure" and he was like, its not supercharged. We looked at the SS emblems all over the car...and just said ok. Tony and I did compliment him on the interior.

It was a great time. I want to see what I can get out of the car with better air/conditions....but I'm feeling impatient. I think its time to visit PH again and unleash hell. Not sure yet. I know there is more left at this power level despite not besting my 11.75 prior, but that was in 60 degree air. Will have to wait and see. Time slips to follow.

Cheers.

Nice runs by both you guys!
RB6 trapping at 110! Wow, nice and keep in mind on stock gears. That car has much more in it.
Nice 60' Todd, your trap mph is looking great too. Same setup in ideal conditions would be sub 11.5 I believe.
Time to unleash the beast now though, you don't want to wait for fall and miss half the season...plus you have an audience watching and we need to see it!
These are two cars that are setting the standard for track performance for our 4.0

sounds like you guys had a great time. Those are very impressive runs on street tires and 3.31s! btw, there is a non-supercharged cobalt ss, that is slightly slower than the 4.0 stock for stock, so that guy probably had that which means there was still alot on the table.

It was beautiful weather, I just wish we had more runs. MD was dragging on the time trials, I havent seen time trials that slow in awhile, and the track was not packed.
