I haven't really gotten any hate for being a V6, although I have gotten the auto crap. I just tell them, "If you're going to drive me everyday for 1.5 hours in heavy traffic, then I'll gladly trade mine in for a stick". I know how to drive one and do every weekend in my Rover...but my stang is my daily driver so I wanted, and was willing to pay for, an auto. I even got crap from a couple of my friends for not getting a stick...THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DRIVE ONE! [:@] ...Sorry. I just had to stop and stare at the ground, shaking my head. Then they ask me to teach them.[:@]

personally, if they aren't making my car payments then WTF should I care what they think. If you are truly that influenced by what other people say, you should just let other people live your life for you.

I pulled up next to a really nice 66 GTO in prestine condition the other day. Had my windows down, before I could say "Nice car, man", he said it to me.. I was pretty shocked. But replied with "Beautiful GTO". He was asking what I thought about the GT500KR and Super Snakes coming out, etc.. We BS for a little while then the light turned green and people behind us started honking at us. LOL
Never tried to race each other, just talked about muscle cars, both classic and new.
Never got any negative comments about getting a V6 'vert. auto.
It just a cruiser.

The most V6 "hate" I ever got was a loud mouthed teen friend of my daughter's, who didn't even own ANY car depite being nearly 20. I simply smiled.

As far as the V8 guys, most of the ones I've run into that "cop an attitude" about a V6 'stang seem to have very poor self esteem, and somehow it makes them feel more worthy and superior if they can think that their car is "better" somehow, then the "better" magically rubs off on them. Sorta sad really.

ive noticed a lot of the people that hate on my sixer dont even have a mustang. if you dont have one you cant talk bad about one.

I highly doubt its ALL in our heads read the above post to see what this and many other threads talk about. Its silly and uncalled for the comments that get thrown at the V6 crowd.
Its a Mustang and well a pretty damb good one at that, but hey I did spend $5K less than the average GT owner.
