which intake would be best for a 2006 v6?
ive been searching trought alot of sites, and asking people which CAI is best, few people tell me that k&n is probably the best.. the thing i dont get is that it gives about 7.6 HP and it rounds about 260$.. then i look at other intakes like BBK, S&B, AEM, and it says it gains about 10-15, 15-20 HP and these round about the same price as k&n.. so how is the K&N better?

I have a K&N and I love it. But the thing is the 7.6 it says it gains is the actual RWHP. As for the other ones you mentioned that say 10-15 and 15-20, that is not the RWHP so its going to be less then that.

also, some rate intakes with a tune also, not just the intake by itself. K&N is a quality intake but can't say its the best performer. based on others on the forums, C&L is the leader of the pack. it does require a tune but delivers the most potential due to its large MAF housing.

Depends on one decison. Do I go with a larger diameter tube that needs a matching tune or not? Of the no tune stock tube size versions, K&N is prob the best. If you go with a high flow larger diameter combo, get the one your tuners sets up for. Best for the $ is VMP, My Chioce, C&L with brenspeed tune..

Justin at vmp makes a real good intake. you can get the larger diameter tube if you wish or just the cone filter and stock tube with tunes for about $475. i loved mine. only thing is i kept the car two weeks before i found a 07 gt. for the gt i am going with the c&l racer intake from either ****chips or brens. but for the money vmp is a good cai combo. jmo

yeah, the VMP is a good deal but only if you want to tune your car. also, its not a "show" intake since its basically just a larger than stock MAF housing and cone filter attached to the stock rubber tube. based on numbers, it outperforms the "no tune" intakes. if tuning is not part of your plans, go for the K&N but don't forget to look at other intakes as well. there are plenty of them and many of them are just as good.

i have the K&N typhoon and i like it. If you are looking for an intake that requires a tune I would go with the C&L. If you don't want a tune, I would recommend the K&N.

I have the tunable inductions intake/tuner combo. The combo cost me 479 shipped with an 87 tune, 91 tune, and a 93 tune. The tunes aren't that great, but i tweaked em a little and am happy for now. The C&L looks classier under the hood but that's about all it has on the TI and for the price of a C&L and tuner you could have the TI with good tunes from a reputable shop and still have cash left over.

i would say go K&N if u dont wanna get a tune... thats what im getting cuz i dont wanna mess with the computer stuff + my parents pay for the car so i dont wanna have them take it into a dealer w/o me knowing and not having flashed back to the stock car settigns
