Took all of 45 mins to get the old muffler removed and GT Take Off installed. Sounds awesome at idle and low RPMs, but that awesome sound goes away under load/WOT. It sounds waaaaay too ricey for a Mustang. Feels like I got some more low-end torque and throttle response though. Prolly all in my head.

Now to de-rice my Stang.

Anyone go from Single GT Take-Off to duals? Did the ricey note go away? Did you use X, Y, or an H-Pipe?

I'm leaning towards the Ninosport Y-pipe, but I'm open to opinions.

Thanks.
Did you use a M/T or an Automatic GT muffler?
They ARE different.....

Just out of curiosity, what would be different about a muffler from A vs MT?

They apparently have a different part number... other than that... there is no hard evidence that they sound different... or why they would sound different.

I was thinking the same thing, but because of the above comments I got a little confused.

hey SOHC, I've always liked the sound of your exhaust and I've looked into it and been meaning to ask if you went with the "aggressive" tone or the "mild" tone on the exhaust, because it's apparently an option. As far as the whole thing, do you know what I'd be looking at in terms of cost and would it matter that I have an AT?

Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by "aggressive" and "mild"... the 2 options for the Pypes system are Street Pros and Violators. Must be the distributor you are dealing with (do you have the web link?).

I'm assuming the Violators are louder than the Street Pros I have... not sure I would want louder than what I have...

My whole kit was $440 plus shipping (I think it was $45) direct from Pypes.

I have an AT in my pony, works just fine.

Feel free to ask all the questions you want.

I have a single GT take-off from an auto on my manual I think it sounds great much better than the stock 6 muffler. I hope the duals will sound better when I get that insatlled.

Dual GT takeoff vs single GT takeoff?
What are the dyno #'s gained from a dual and a single?
I know duals sound louder, but I dont know if it is really worth 400 for a louder sound if you gain more performance from a single. : /

Also are there any facts about a difference inside the muffler itself to prove a M/T GT takeoff sounds different than an A/T GT takeoff?

Thanks,
Paul
