Default Anyone running dual borla mufflers?

Ok I was thinking of installing borla axle backs, I'm looking for the most authentic muscle car sound possible with just a touch of modern sound to that.

Here are a few problem's:

First the borlas, which are the best sounding axel backs I've heard on a v8, still sound a little too much like a vacume cleaner.

Second, putting them on a v6 will only accentuate that above fact.

- So to know my starting point I'd like to see a video of a v6 with dual borlas or at least a verbal comparison to the v8 sound if some one has a set of borlas. (you tube has many videos of the v8, here's one so you know what to diferentiate ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfOUL-iCUis

- I'd also like some ideas on how to acheive the sound I want.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qih5S...ed&search=

Which is bassicaly this one^ (full borla exhaust with some other stuff).

I know, my car is not a v8 so I'll never get as close as I want to that "reciprocating" sound, but anyone who's gotten that true muscle car sound out of a v6 with dual exhaust or has expert knowlege on how that might be done, chime in.

FRPP stingers (Borla Stingers w/ Ford Racing stamped tips) are THE way to go imho.

I love mine, wouldn't swap them for anything.

If you don't like mufflers that make your ears bleed, the Borlas sound real nice.

Heard Torch_Verts pony at the last cruise... VERY deep sounding at idle...

Didn't get a chance to hear them at speed, because he was behind me most of the way!

LOL

I want to hear them when you stand on it on the 19th, Paul!

I want to make a video for the collection...

I'll give you a good demo on the 19th. Might even have JBA headers by then....

I installed the dual borlas on my v6 ...they came off my friends GT. My car has the stock midpipe with stock cats and JBA shortie headers. The mufflers sound great at idle and when reving it up ...but the drone at crusing speeds was horrible. At WOT they sound great ...my car even felt a bit quicker but the drone when cruising was too much for a daily driver. I had them on for a week....sold them and went back to GT take offs ....this time the rolled tip version from the California SpecialEdition.

I look forward it my friend!

That is exactly why I WON'T be putting a blower on my pony... way too much temptation!!

Sorta like giving a cold drink to a thirsty man and saying, "here, hold this for me while I take a nap"...

PS: I think I would be on a first name basis with the local sheriff's department... I'm still working on their last names now...

Never heard about drone with GT mufflers...

I have a set that I was thinking about running during the winter when my windows are all rolled up tight.

The Street Pros are almost deafening in certain RPM ranges...

87+dB interior sound level at maximum resonance 2200-2500 RPM...

Almost as loud as a jackhammer (90dB)...

But if the GTs are just as bad, why bother?

I'm bassically doing the same thing for my initial mod. What you just mentioned is bassically my biggest fear, too much drone.

I REALLY am not a fan of drone.

Do you think that running borla full pipes would lessen the undesirable sounds.
