Default Cabin Air Filter?

Lately I notice that when I hit my Recirc button (or pick MAX A/C) that my air goes to about zero blowing on the "1" postion of the fan. I turn off the Recirc button on regular A/C it blows a lot harder in the same fan position. No DTC codes (I got an XCAL 2). Could it be my Cabin Air Filter (CAF) is clogged? Owner's guide says it is under the cowl grille right in front of the windshield on passenger side so it looks like I can just unscrew and remove the cowl grille to get to it? Is that pretty easy to do? It says to replace the CAF at 15K and I am just about there. Anyone have this problem and is the CAF the fix or is there something else I should check?[/align]

OK I pulled the CAF and it looks good so now I have NO idea why the fan runs much lighter on "recirc" in the "1" fan position than when it not on Recirc. Shouldn't MAX A/C with Recirc blow just as hard as regular a/c without recirc on? I think it used to. I don't get it.

Recirc should blow a lot harder than not... No idea what could cause the reverse. MAX automatically turns on the recirculating.

I don't think the cabin air filter would cause this. I heard that Ford charges like $120.00 to change it too. The filter is only $12 i think and its under the passenger dash plate. You can do it your self. I took mine out and just dusted/air compressed it off. lol
